Role : RWCS is currently advising DFES communications on top level strategic requirement for enterprise information / knowledge management. With a goal for scope and plan an enterprise information ID management strategies, associated information frameworks and digital architecture policies
Dfes UPID Project : To prove a working service of persistent digital identification with a metadata policy applied to a core sample of critical DFES and Becta digital information assets. This approach to show significant benefit in offering reliable, unambiguous dissemination of information to providers in government and the wider educational communities.
Project Scope : The main purpose of this proof of concept proposal is to set out and deliver a set 18 month term project, with specific scalability, targeted to proof a working example of persistent digital identification (Handle) with content policy applied to a core sample of critical information. It is primarily targeted to prove the usefulness of persistent identity architecture for the resolution of difficulties caused by existing digital identification & content control mechanisms at DfES and its sister agencies. This project has been undertaken using an Information Architecture approach, as an integrated, frame-worked approach to digitally identifying, managing, and sharing of DfES & BECTA digital information assets, including, content collections, documents, policies, procedures and data objects.
